Kebbi Government: Dan’ama Was Dismissed Before Resignation Letter

The Kebbi State Government has clarified that Nasiru Muhammad Dan’ama was officially relieved of his position as Special Adviser before the release of a purported resignation letter currently making the rounds.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris, the government confirmed that Dan’ama was sacked by Governor Nasir Idris following repeated warnings over alleged misconduct.

According to the statement, Dan’ama was accused of working against the state’s agricultural development agenda and allegedly colluding with members of an opposition party to frustrate key government initiatives.

“The attention of the Kebbi State Government has been drawn to a resignation letter authored by Mr. Nasiru Muhammad Dan’ama. For clarity, he had already been dismissed,” the statement read.

Dan’ama, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Argungu Constituency in the 2023 House of Assembly election, lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Umaru Na’Amore. Despite the loss, Governor Idris appointed him as a Special Adviser, which the government described as a gesture of political goodwill.

However, the government stated that his eventual dismissal was due to consistent actions deemed contrary to the administration’s vision, accusing him of being influenced by opposition forces to spread misinformation.

The Kebbi State Government reiterated its commitment to transparency and warned against attempts to mislead the public
