Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has raised serious concerns over the withdrawal of military personnel from Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, shortly before schoolgirls were abducted in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.

Speaking during a visit by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, Governor Idris said the government had already shared intelligence about threats in the area. According to Mediaplusng.com, he expressed shock that soldiers still pulled out despite the warning.

The Governor explained that troops allegedly left their duty post around 3:00 a.m., and the attackers struck about 45 minutes later. He wondered who gave the order at such a critical moment, noting that the withdrawal created a security gap that the criminals exploited.

Governor Idris urged military authorities to immediately investigate the incident and reveal who authorized the withdrawal. He told Mediaplusng.com that the state government is determined to get answers and ensure stronger protection for schools across Kebbi
