The Lagos State Police Command arrests 26 suspects for possession of counterfeit currency and involvement in the production and sale of adulterated diesel in Eti-Osa, Lekki. According to Mediaplusng.com, the joint operation with Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) takes place on 27 November 2025, leading to the recovery of ₦951,300 in fake notes from the suspects’ hideouts.
Preliminary investigations show that Abubakar Rilean (40), Abubakar Abdullahi (35), Adamu Ibrahim Jora (35) and Michael John (30) are responsible for producing and distributing adulterated diesel and engine oil, popularly known as “rice and beans,” to unsuspecting motorists. Mediaplusng.com also reports that two others — Ichapi Moses (30) and Samson Adike (28) — supply the adulterated petroleum products within the area.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, warns those involved in criminal activities to stop immediately. He says the Command is intensifying daily raids on criminal hideouts, show-of-force operations, and convoy patrols across divisions. He adds that anyone caught endangering public peace or damaging vehicles will face strict legal consequences.
CP Jimoh reassures Lagos residents that the state remains safe and that the Command is fully committed to protecting lives, property, and economic stability. He urges the public to share credible information that can help security agencies prevent crime and bring offenders to justice.
