The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a commercial taxi driver, Adedayo Ben Adegbola, for allegedly assaulting and raping several female passengers across different parts of the state. The suspect, who was recently featured in viral social media posts, was tracked down and apprehended by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos Command, Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect was arrested following the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohunda Jimoh, who ordered a full-scale investigation into multiple complaints lodged by victims. Detectives launched a discreet but coordinated operation that led to Adegbola’s arrest on October 31, 2025, around 9:40 a.m.
During the operation, police recovered the suspect’s operational vehicle — a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT — which was reportedly used to commit the crimes. The vehicle has since been impounded as evidence.
