Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, declares his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.
He makes this known during an interview with DCL Hausa on Monday morning.
According to Mediaplusng.com, Malami says he enjoys massive support from the people of the state. He explains that although INEC guidelines do not allow early mobilisation, his political strength will be visible when the campaign window opens.
Malami states that he is fully committed to the race, saying, “I have agreed to contest, and there is no retreat. God willing, we are going to win because the people believe in us, and we will not let them down.”
Mediaplusng.com reports that Malami strongly criticises the ruling APC, insisting that the party’s policies worsen the hardship in Northern Nigeria. He explains that insecurity pushes many farmers away from their farms, while long-standing rice mills are shutting down because of policies that favour foreign companies.
Malami says he is joining the race to rescue Kebbi State from insecurity, revive agriculture, and protect the interests of citizens. He stresses that his ambition is not driven by personal gain but by a commitment to restore stability and development in the state.
