The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, says the interventionist agency is set to commence local postgraduate Scholarship programme for Niger Delta youths seeking to further their studies.
Mr Ogbuku, who stated this after inspecting the oral interview session for candidates of the 2025 NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship programme in Port Harcourt, says the local postgraduate Scholarship programme will offer admission to 600 students yearly.
He says the decision to commence the local postgraduate Scholarship followed the successes recorded over the years from the foreign postgraduate Scholarship programme of the Commission.
The NDDC scholarship programme, which started in 2010, is designed to produce top-level professionals with technical knowledge, capacity, and expertise to compete in the oil and gas industry and other sectors. The scholarship programme covers science disciplines, including engineering, agricultural science, environmental science, geosciences, information technology, and management sciences, including law and architecture.
