The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its fight against drug-related crimes in Plateau State with the destruction of a large cannabis farm and the recovery of arms and ammunition.
According to Mediaplusng.com, operatives of the Plateau State Command uncovered and destroyed a five-hectare cannabis plantation in Langtang South Local Government Area. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb the spread of illicit drugs and criminal activities in the region.
In a separate operation, NDLEA officers also arrested suspects found in possession of live arms and ammunition. The agency noted that the arrests highlight the strong link between drug trafficking and insecurity across many communities.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the Plateau Command of NDLEA has assured residents of its commitment to continue aggressive enforcement, stressing that the war against illicit drugs is also a war to safeguard lives and property. The agency called on the public to provide timely information that could help in tackling the drug menace.
The NDLEA reiterated that it will not relent in its mission to rid Plateau and Nigeria at large of hard drugs, criminal networks, and their dangerous effects on society.
