NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results, Announces Re-Sit Dates for Key Subjects

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). A total of 179,201 candidates sat for the examination, which covered 12 core subjects.

The 2025 BECE took place between May 12 and May 23, with a smooth and successful nationwide administration, according to NECO officials.

The release of the results follows the BECE Awards Committee meeting, held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State. Chairing the meeting, Dr. (Mrs.) Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination and the result processing procedures.

The meeting also included participation from secondary school principals across Nigeria, alongside senior officials from NECO management.

In addition to the result release, the Awards Committee also approved the 2025 BECE Re-sit timetable. Candidates who need to retake Mathematics and English Studies will do so on July 23 and 24, 2025, respectively.
