New Political Movement Emerges: All Democratic Alliance Set for INEC Registration

A major step toward reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape was taken as the National Opposition Coalition Group (NOCG) officially endorsed the formation of a new political association—All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

Following a strategic meeting on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at No. 23 Justice Fatai Williams Street, Asokoro, Abuja, the New Platform Committee, led by former Senate President Senator David Mark, finalized decisions aimed at establishing ADA as a fully registered political party.

This comes after the NOCG’s high-level gathering on May 6, 2025, which mandated a 15-member committee to develop a new political platform. After several subcommittee sessions and deliberations, the following key resolutions were made:

Key Resolutions of the New Platform Committee:

Approval of the political association name: All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

Endorsement of official registration: The committee authorized application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ADA’s registration as a political party.

Adoption of key party elements: Logo, slogan, motto, party constitution, and manifesto were approved.

Appointment of interim leadership:

Chief Akin A. Ricketts was named Protem National Chairman.

Abdullahi Musa Elayo was appointed Protem National Secretary.

Mandate for the Interim Leadership:

Secure an official headquarters for the party.

Oversee the INEC registration process.

Open a financial account to manage party funds transparently.

Implement the party’s structure and operations in line with the 2022 Electoral Act and ADA’s constitution.

The meeting was officially documented and signed by Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Chairman of the New Platform Committee, and Dr. Umar Ardo, who serves as the Secretary.

As Nigeria heads toward another electoral cycle, the birth of ADA signals a new chapter in the country’s democratic evolution, with promises of fresh ideologies and leadership alternatives.
