Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has firmly stated that no local government area in the state is currently under the control of bandits or criminal groups. He made this clarification during a media parley held in Jos, addressing concerns over the security situation in the state.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized that while security challenges persist in some communities, the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, has ensured that no part of Plateau is overrun or occupied by criminal elements. He assured residents that proactive measures are continuously being implemented to maintain peace and protect lives and property across all local governments.
The Governor also used the platform to highlight the achievements of his administration over the past months, particularly in key sectors such as security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He noted that strategic partnerships with federal security forces have strengthened intelligence gathering and rapid response mechanisms, leading to a reduction in attacks on rural communities.
On infrastructure, Mutfwang outlined ongoing projects aimed at improving road networks, water supply, and healthcare facilities in both urban and rural areas. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang appealed to the media to support the government’s efforts by promoting accurate information and countering narratives that could incite fear or undermine public confidence.
