The Ogun State Police Command arraigns the driver involved in the fatal road crash that claims two lives and injures former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the police confirm that the driver of the Lexus SUV, 46-year-old Kayode Adeniyi, appears before the Sagamu Magistrate Court on charges related to the accident. The arraignment follows preliminary investigations into the incident.
The crash occurs when the Lexus SUV reportedly rams into a stationary truck on the highway, leading to the death of two occupants of the vehicle. Anthony Joshua, who is also in the SUV at the time, sustains injuries and receives immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital.
In a statement cited by Mediaplusng.com, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, says investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing. He assures the public that the Command is committed to due process, transparency, and a thorough handling of the case.
The police stress that all findings will be presented before the court as investigations continue. The case is adjourned to January 20, 2026, for further hearing, as authorities work to establish full responsibility for the tragic incident.
