The Plateau State Police Command has made another breakthrough in its fight against crime, arresting two suspects and recovering three locally made firearms with ammunition in separate operations across the state.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the first arrest took place on August 4, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m. during a stop-and-search operation by officers from the Kaduna-Vom Division. The police intercepted a motorcycle traveling from Vom to Kuru and apprehended Mark Ibrahim Dalyop, 24, of Sabon Layi Kuru. He was found in possession of two locally made rifles.
In a separate incident on August 11, 2025, officers from the Nassarawa Gwong Division, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Moses Aliyu, 26, of Fwave Chiki Rayfield, Jos. The suspect was found hiding in an uncompleted building in Kwanga. A search revealed a locally fabricated revolver pistol and one 0.9mm live round of ammunition in his possession.
Police spokesperson, Alfred Alabo, PPRO, Plateau State Command, confirmed that the suspects are being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). They will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, psc, assured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Plateau State. He warned all criminal elements to desist from unlawful acts or leave the state, stressing that the police will continue to pursue and prosecute offenders in line with the law.
