The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of four officers seen in a viral video allegedly counting money while on duty.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the officers were identified and brought before the Delta State Commissioner of Police for questioning. Among the four, two are senior officers who have already been issued queries, while the other two, both inspectors, have been detained.
The police authorities disclosed that the detained inspectors will face an orderly room trial, a disciplinary process used to address misconduct within the force. This move comes after widespread public outrage over the viral footage, which many Nigerians described as a stain on the integrity of the police.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the Commissioner of Police assured the public that no act of indiscipline will be tolerated, stressing that the force remains committed to restoring public trust and ensuring accountability among its personnel.
