President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Nasarawa State in key development sectors, particularly solid minerals and agriculture.
Speaking during a visit to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, President Tinubu praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for prudent resource management, which he said has gained the confidence of the Federal Government and private investors.
“I’m pleased to return to Nasarawa as President, just as the Emir predicted during the 2023 campaigns. Thank you for your foresight, integrity, and unwavering support,” the President said.
He commended Governor Sule and the traditional rulers for fostering peace and progress in the state, emphasizing that Nasarawa’s stability aligns with the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to reshape the economy, particularly for the benefit of young Nigerians and future generations,” he noted. “What we’ve witnessed here — like the newly completed interchange which required no loans — is a testament to good governance.”
President Tinubu also thanked the attending governors for their dedication to national development and their shared vision for Nigeria’s future.
The Emir of Lafia, who also chairs the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, hailed President Tinubu for replicating his transformative leadership in Lagos at the national level.
“Your Excellency, we saw what you did in Lagos, and now we’re seeing the same economic turnaround in Nigeria. Before you leave office, we believe Nigeria will be great again,” the Emir said, pledging the continued support of the Emirate.
President Tinubu was received at the airport by Governor Sule before commissioning multiple projects in Lafia, including the new flyover, roads, a state secretariat complex, agricultural tractors for mechanized farming, and operational vehicles for security agencies.
The event was attended by governors from Kaduna, Imo, Borno, Ogun, Kwara, and Benue States. Ministers of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, and Women’s Affairs, Imaan Suleiman, also participated in the commissioning.
