President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has clarified that Nigeria is not becoming a one-party state, emphasizing instead that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the only party delivering real progress. Speaking at the APC Renewed Hope Agenda Summit in Abuja, the President highlighted the administration’s achievements and reaffirmed his commitment to democracy and national development.
Addressing party leaders, the National Working Committee, members of the National Assembly, and governors under the APC, President Tinubu said the administration’s bold economic reforms are yielding positive results, both locally and internationally. He stressed that the APC’s growing support stems from its performance, not political domination, stating, “A one-party system is not ideal for democracy, but people are drawn to results—not sinking ships.”
President Tinubu praised the Federal Executive Council and lawmakers for backing reforms that tackle corruption, stabilize the economy, and boost national security. He cited the elimination of foreign exchange arbitrage and ongoing tax reforms as major milestones in restoring investor confidence and economic integrity. He noted that these tough decisions were necessary to build a stronger future for Nigerians.
In a show of unity, APC stakeholders endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in 2027. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, along with House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, led the endorsements, citing the President’s visionary leadership. APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje also declared Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the next election.
The summit also reviewed the administration’s progress in key sectors such as health, security, and infrastructure. Ganduje urged party members to deepen grassroots engagement, uphold APC values, and avoid internal conflicts. He encouraged continued support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said offers Nigerians a path to lasting development and prosperity.
