President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday night for Brazil, marking the second leg of his two-nation tour. The Nigerian leader is scheduled to begin his official state visit to Brazil on Saturday, August 24.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the President will make a brief stopover in Los Angeles, United States, before continuing to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where high-level meetings and diplomatic engagements have been lined up.
Tinubu had earlier embarked on the trip from Abuja on Friday, August 15, with stopovers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before arriving in Yokohama on August 18 for the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).
As reported by Mediaplusng.com, the President actively participated in the opening ceremony and plenary sessions of TICAD9 on August 20. He also held bilateral meetings with global leaders and later engaged with Nigerians in the diaspora during an interactive session on Thursday night.
