Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State announces that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit the state next week for a two-day official engagement to commission key projects executed by the state government.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the visit will also coincide with the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, scheduled from 11 to 14 February, attracting participants from across Nigeria and abroad. The governor calls on all citizens to welcome the President during his brief stay.
Governor Idris says that while the President’s tight schedule may not allow the commissioning of all projects, several historic initiatives will be formally handed over. Mediaplusng.com reports that the visit underscores the partnership between the federal and state governments in driving development and cultural promotion in Kebbi State.
The governor also received defectors from other political parties who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Jega Local Government Area, commending them for their foresight and assuring fair treatment within the party. He reiterates his administration’s commitment to continuing development across the state, including in the local government areas.
Governor Idris emphasizes that the state’s development drive will continue uninterrupted, with ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for residents. He encourages citizens to actively participate in welcoming the President and celebrating the Argungu Festival as a showcase of Kebbi’s culture and progress.
The Argungu International Fishing Festival remains a major national and international cultural event, combining tourism, traditional sports, and local arts. The President’s visit is expected to boost the state’s visibility and promote investment opportunities in Kebbi.
Officials note that security and logistics arrangements are being finalised to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival and the commissioning activities. Residents are urged to cooperate with authorities and participate peacefully in all planned events.
