President Bola Tinubu welcomes the release of the 24 schoolgirls abducted by terrorists in Maga, Kebbi State, on November 17. The attack happened at dawn, just after a military detachment left the school. According to Mediaplusng.com, the incident triggered copycat kidnappings in Eruku, Kwara State, and Papiri, Niger State, raising national concern over rising school-related attacks.

By Sunday, all 38 abducted victims in Eruku regained freedom, while the Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria confirmed that 50 students earlier declared missing from the Catholic School in Papiri were found at home.
Mediaplusng.com reports that President Tinubu, through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised security agencies for their swift response and efforts in securing multiple rescues across the affected states.

The President urges security forces to intensify their operations to ensure the safe return of any remaining students still in captivity. He says the safety of schoolchildren must remain a top priority and calls for stronger security presence in vulnerable communities.

“I am relieved that all 24 girls have been accounted for. Now, we must urgently deploy more boots on the ground in high-risk areas to stop further kidnappings. My administration will give all the support needed to achieve this,” President Tinubu says.
