Renewed Communal Clash Hits Lamurde in Adamawa State

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Adamawa State Government imposes a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area and surrounding communities after fresh attacks on the Bachama community, allegedly by members of the Chobo community.

According to Mediaplusng.com, the renewed violence comes less than a week after Governor Umaru Fintiri convenes a security meeting with both communities in a bid to maintain peace. The clashes follow earlier unrest when homes were burned and properties destroyed, prompting the Governor to appeal for calm.

Local sources report that the latest attack occurs on the night of Sunday, 7 December 2025, as heavily armed assailants invade Waduku, Rigange, Tingo, and nearby settlements. Eyewitnesses say the attackers use weapons more advanced than those deployed by military personnel, forcing many residents to flee their homes. Gunshots continue to ring out as families relocate to safer areas.

As reported by Mediaplusng.com, the Adamawa State Police Commissioner, CP Morris Dankwambo, deploys additional operational personnel to affected areas to monitor the situation and enforce compliance. He urges residents to avoid actions that could further disrupt peace and stability in the region.
