Thousands of Rivers State residents on Monday trooped out in large numbers to welcome Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy as they prepared to resume duties at the Government House in Port Harcourt
According to Mediaplusng.com, supporters from all 23 local government areas converged on the Government House axis, creating a massive show of solidarity for the governor. The crowd, estimated at over 4,000 people, began gathering as early as 7 a.m., stretching from the Government House to Abonnema Wharf Junction along Aba Road. The development caused a complete standstill in vehicular movement in the area.
Many of the supporters who spoke to reporters expressed their willingness to remain at the venue until the governor’s arrival, describing the event as a “new dawn for democracy” in the state.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the Governor’s return to the Government House has been highly anticipated, with residents and political supporters saying it symbolizes stability and renewed hope for Rivers State.
Governor Fubara is expected to address the crowd later today, with assurances that his administration will continue to prioritize peace, development, and the welfare of the people.
