The Governor made this known during an inspection of the ongoing 14.5-kilometre road project linking three Local Government Areas in the state.
According to Mediaplusng.com, Governor Fubara emphasized that his government will not tolerate poor performance from any contractor handling public projects. He said every project must meet acceptable standards and directly benefit the citizens, stressing that accountability and transparency will remain key in his administration’s development agenda.
Demonstrating strong leadership by example, Governor Fubara braved the rough terrain, trekking a long distance before switching to a vehicle to assess the 240-metre bridge section of the project. His visit underscored his hands-on approach and desire to personally verify progress on major infrastructure works.
While expressing disappointment at the slow pace and poor quality of work by one of the contractors handling the road section, the Governor praised Setraco Nigeria Limited for maintaining impressive standards and speed on the bridge construction.
As reported by Mediaplusng.com, Governor Fubara assured that his administration will review all underperforming contracts to ensure that only competent contractors deliver on the state’s infrastructure promises. He noted that his ultimate goal is to guarantee that every naira spent translates into tangible development for Rivers people.
