The Senate Committee on Army has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Saidu Paiko and other soldiers who lost their lives in Borno State while serving the nation.
In a condolence message signed by the Committee Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the lawmakers commended the fallen soldiers for their bravery, patriotism, and dedication to national security. The statement described them as heroes who upheld the highest standards of military professionalism and sacrifice.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the Committee extended its condolences to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and the entire Nigerian Army, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and support of troops across the country. “We will continue to provide every possible support to ensure the Nigerian Army has the resources needed to protect our nation and maintain peace,” the statement reads.
The Committee also sympathized with the families of the deceased officers and soldiers, praying that Almighty Allah grants them eternal rest and comfort to their loved ones.
