Vice President Kashim Shettima is appealing to Nigerians to remain patient as the benefits of ongoing economic reforms will soon begin to reach everyone.
Speaking at the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, Shettima explains that the government has made significant progress in stabilizing the economy through the unification of the foreign exchange market, improved revenue collection, and a reduction in the nation’s debt-to-GDP ratio.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the Vice President notes that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is focused on ensuring that these reforms translate into real impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He adds that trade, agriculture, infrastructure, and logistics remain at the heart of the government’s strategy for inclusive development, while urging state governments to align their efforts with the federal agenda for national progress.
Shettima Cautions PENGASSAN Over Dangote Dispute
Vice President Shettima also calls for caution in the recent disagreement between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Dangote Group.
In his remarks, Shettima condemns PENGASSAN’s actions and emphasizes the need to support local investors and private sector players who, he says, are key drivers of Nigeria’s economic growth.
He appeals to all stakeholders to promote dialogue and collaboration rather than confrontation, adding that sustainable growth can only be achieved through mutual understanding and shared responsibility.
