Taraba Government Donates N50 Million to Mokwa Flood Victims, Commiserates with Niger State
In a show of solidarity and compassion, the Taraba State Government has donated N50 million to support victims of the devastating flood in Mokwa, Niger State.
A delegation led by Senator Manu Haruna, representing Taraba Central, visited Governor Umaru Bago at the Niger State Government House in Minna to offer condolences and present the relief support.
Senator Haruna expressed heartfelt sympathy on behalf of Taraba State, describing the disaster as a tragic loss not only for Niger State but for Nigeria as a whole.
> “As a sister state, we stand with the people of Niger during this difficult time,” the Senator stated. “This flood is a national tragedy, and we share in your grief.”
The N50 million donation was offered as immediate support to help cushion the impact on those affected by the flood in Mokwa Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Governor Umaru Bago appreciated the gesture, calling it a true reflection of unity among Nigerian states. He emphasized the importance of collective response during emergencies and expressed gratitude to the government and people of Taraba State for their empathy and generosity.
The flood in Mokwa recently displaced hundreds of residents and caused significant damage to property and livelihoods, prompting national concern and calls for coordinated relief efforts.
