Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recorded another major victory in the fight against terrorism in the North East. Acting on credible intelligence, the troops carried out a fighting patrol around Magumeri and Gajiram general areas of Borno State, leading to the neutralization of nine Boko Haram terrorists and the recovery of about ₦5 million ransom money.
According to reports obtained by Mediaplusng.com, the troops intercepted the terrorists on October 10, 2025, after receiving information about their movement around Goni Dunari in Magumeri Local Government Area. The insurgents, who were seen setting houses on fire and attacking locals, attempted to escape as the troops advanced. However, the soldiers pursued them for nearly 92 kilometers and eventually engaged them in a fierce battle.
Five terrorists were killed during the encounter, while others fled with gunshot wounds. Items recovered from the scene include an AK-47 rifle, five magazines, 31 rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, and a dagger. Notably, there were no casualties or equipment losses recorded on the part of the Nigerian troops.
In a related operation reported by Mediaplusng.com, troops on motorcycle patrol along the Gajiram–Bolori–Mile 40–Gajiganna axis engaged another group of Boko Haram fighters near Zundur village. Four terrorists were neutralized, and two kidnapped victims — Mr. Modu Kinnami (55) and Mr. Bukar (57) — were rescued.
The troops also recovered a blue pickup vehicle, two new Tecno button phones, 30 litres of petrol, and a total sum of ₦4.35 million. Preliminary findings show that the terrorists had earlier demanded ₦2 million and mobile phones as ransom for their captives.
Security sources confirm that clearance operations are still ongoing across multiple fronts to sustain pressure on the insurgents and deny them any freedom of movement in the region.
