The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the reported arrest of its social media influencer, Bashir Isah Gusau, describing it as political persecution aimed at silencing opposition in the state.

According to Mediaplusng.com, Gusau, popularly called “Ambassador,” was allegedly picked up around 10 p.m. on Wednesday at a football viewing centre in Sabon Gari, Gusau, by four men claiming to be DSS operatives attached to the Government House. APC claims the operatives arrived in a covered number plate vehicle, fired shots into the air to disperse onlookers, and forcibly took Gusau to an unknown location.

The party says searches at local police stations failed to locate Gusau, and all his phone lines have reportedly been switched off. APC described the alleged arrest as a misuse of power by the Dauda Lawal-led administration, accusing it of turning security operatives into instruments of political intimidation.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the APC has called on the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the DSS to investigate and hold government house security personnel accountable. The party says its legal team is mobilised to challenge any unlawful treatment of members and has urged supporters to remain calm while leaders monitor the situation.

APC warned that political intimidation will not deter its efforts to reclaim power from the PDP in Zamfara State in the 2027 elections, vowing to continue its political struggle while safeguarding its members.
