The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a crucial meeting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, ahead of the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the closed-door meeting is taking place at the PDP National Secretariat, with Ambassador Umar Damagum, the party’s Acting National Chairman, presiding.
Top on the agenda is the contentious issue of the zoning formula for the 2027 general elections, a matter that has continued to generate heated debate within the party. Also being discussed are preparations for the NEC meeting and other pressing internal matters that could shape the PDP’s future.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the party has lined up four key national organ meetings for the week. The NWC meeting comes first, followed by the National Caucus meeting later tonight in Abuja.
The much-anticipated 102nd NEC meeting, billed for Monday, is regarded by analysts and stakeholders as a make-or-break session that could define the direction of the opposition party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
