The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s Convention Zoning Committee are holding parallel meetings in Abuja ahead of the crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) session scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today, Mediaplusng.com reports.
The zoning committee meeting is taking place at the Legacy House, while members of the BOT are gathered at the Wadata Plaza, the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.
According to Mediaplusng.com, both meetings are strategic, as leaders seek to harmonize their positions before presenting a final resolution to the NEC. The zoning committee, chaired by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, is expected to submit its recommendations on the zoning of principal party offices as well as the 2027 presidential ticket for NEC ratification.
Meanwhile, PDP BOT members have appealed to stakeholders to close ranks, remain united, and work toward ensuring that the party’s National Elective Convention, scheduled for November, holds as planned without internal crises.
