Former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, says political stakeholders across the South-West have agreed to put aside internal disagreements and work together in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Mimiko made the declaration on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, while reading the communiqué at the South-West Stakeholders’ Engagement organised by the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Lagos.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the former governor said representatives of different political interests across the six South-West states had reached a common position on the need to resolve grievances and strengthen political cooperation.
Reading from the communiqué, Mimiko declared:
“Yorubaland, we have buried our grievances, put our differences aside and agreed to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next presidential election.”
The meeting brought together APC leaders and stakeholders from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The engagement focused on reconciliation within the party, strengthening political structures and expanding grassroots mobilisation ahead of the presidential election.
Mimiko said the stakeholders represented different political interests but had agreed to work towards a common objective.
He also highlighted areas of the Tinubu administration’s policies that participants considered significant, particularly developments in tertiary education and digital infrastructure.
Earlier, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, who coordinates stakeholder mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council in the South-West, urged party leaders to reconcile with aggrieved members and ensure that no political interest was left behind.
He also called for wider engagement with first-time voters, community leaders, artisans and other groups beyond the party’s existing membership.
Other prominent figures at the engagement included Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and former Ekiti State Governor Adeniyi Adebayo.
The resolutions reflect the position announced by the APC stakeholders who participated in the meeting and form part of the party’s regional mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
