Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, have attracted attention at the party’s presidential campaign rally in Cross River State after sprinting towards the podium while displaying energetic dance moves.
The moment, captured in a video from Monday’s rally in Calabar, showed the Vice President and the APC National Chairman moving towards the stage in a lively manner, drawing attention from party supporters and other attendees.
Shettima, known for his distinctive dance steps at political gatherings, once again entertained the audience with his signature moves.
Professor Yilwatda joined him as they made their way towards the podium, creating a light-hearted moment at the political gathering.
The unusual entrance added colour to an event that brought together APC leaders, political stakeholders, supporters and party faithful from Cross River State and other parts of the South-South region.
The rally is part of the APC’s nationwide mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the ruling party seeks another presidential mandate for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.
Shettima travelled to Calabar to represent the President and lead the party’s engagement with supporters in the state.
His arrival earlier in the day at Margaret Ekpo International Airport was marked by a reception involving Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, party officials and cultural groups showcasing traditional dances and drumming.
The campaign rally subsequently moved to Calabar Stadium, where party supporters gathered to receive the Vice President and other APC leaders.
For Shettima, the dance has become a familiar feature of his public appearances, often adding a touch of entertainment to political engagements.
His latest performance alongside the APC National Chairman has provided another talking point from the Cross River rally, with the video drawing attention beyond the political messages delivered at the event.
However, beyond the spectacle and entertainment, the 2027 campaign season presents political parties with an opportunity to communicate their programmes, defend their records and explain their plans for addressing the concerns of Nigerians.
As political activities intensify, attention will increasingly focus on the issues that matter to voters, including economic recovery, security, employment, infrastructure and the cost of living.
For now, the sprint and signature dance by Shettima and Yilwatda have emerged as one of the memorable moments from the APC’s Cross River campaign rally.
