President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his leadership record, questioning his suitability for the presidency.
Tinubu, while taking a swipe at the former presidential candidate, referenced unresolved road infrastructure issues in Atiku’s home state of Adamawa and his movement from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The President questioned whether Nigerians should entrust the country’s leadership to someone he accused of lacking leadership qualities, responsibility and the ability to promote national cohesion.
He said Atiku was still grappling with road-related challenges in his home state while pursuing his presidential ambition.
Tinubu’s remarks come amid growing political realignments and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
